I skip the pavement laps and head straight for the good stuff: woodlands, forests and open countryside within easy reach of Royal Tunbridge Wells.
where we tend to walk
It’s important to balance familiar spots and routine with new and exciting smells and sights. I tailor my walk to the group I have on any given trip. Sometimes I take the dogs to explore a brand new location, but in general I tend to take the dogs to these beautiful woodlands.
hargate forest
One of my favourite spots in the High Weald. Mature woodland, wide tracks and plenty of room for the pack to spread out and explore safely off lead.
cinderhill
Quiet woodland tracks with room to roam. A regular on my rotation for dogs who thrive on scent-rich forest floors and steady off-lead time.
pembury
Shaded woodland east of town, with rides and loops that suit a full hour of exploration. Ideal when I am collecting from the Pembury side of my patch.
snipe woods
Mixed woodland with natural undergrowth and varied terrain. Brilliant for mental stimulation as well as a proper physical workout.
brenchley woods
Classic High Weald forest, mature trees, quiet paths and space for the pack to settle into a calm, enrichment-led walk.
